Resin and microcement floor application courses held from February 23 to February 26, 2017!

Resin and microcement floor application courses

Video made on dates from Feb. 23 to Feb. 26, 2017 in Ciserano (Bergamo province) during resin and microcement floor application courses for craftsmen. The products discussed in this video are Primeri, Apsecrete Deco, Epox Granit, Apsefloor Glass, Minirasex microcement, and protective treatments and finishes.

First, we proceed with primer application, in this case  we use Apseprimer NS 125 with silica powder to achieve the appropriate substrate condition for the products to use. To make the first sample we use one layer of Epox Granit epoxy resin, consisting of a mixture of resin and thick stones, for external and internal floorings, which guarantees high resistance and draining ability.

In the first sample shown in the video, we've primed a black Decostamp with Apseprimer NS 125 and silica powder. For other samples we have always used the same primer with silica powder applying in addition 1 Apsecrete Deco fill layer. It is a decorative water based material, applied on indoor and outdoor surfaces with spatula to create waves on the first layer; they come over the first fill layer and the sample gets rubbed down with sandpaper and cleaned thoroughly to prevent the formation of dust.

Once the samples are rubbed down we proceed with the second layer; in the first case we apply a layer of black colour Apsecrete Deco; on the other one a decorative water based Minirasex  microcement (same colour of  Apsecrete Deco) which can be used both for floors, walls and bathtubs. When the second layer has been applied, and the sample has been rubbed down and thoroughly cleaned with antistatic wipes, we wait 24 hours in order to apply a protective finish to make them even more resistant and , if necessary, shinier. In this case we use  Hybrid N-coat,  acrilic based Metalcril 35 , Metalcril 20 and polymer based Vernilux Pol finishes.

The video also shows the possibility of use of Microcement as glue for tiles and filler for joints. When the surface has dried, we apply a net over the tiles to obtain major elasticity. We fix it with one layer of White colour Minirasex. During the course we also show the use of  epoxy based floor 2 or 3 mm thick. Here, we apply Apseliv 30 RAL 7004 on Apseprimer NS 125 and silica powder base.

Resins for self levelling flooring must be applied with help of a toothed spatula to allow a better spread of the material on the sample. After 15 minutes we use a spiked roller to remove the eventual bubbles . To create 3D special effects, as shown in the video, just use a little bit of imagination in application of Apsecrete Deco or  Minirasex microcement as a primer and then apply Apsefloor Glass; which is a two-component epoxy resin that does not change its colour and is used as a protective layer to prevent scratches. So apply 1 of  4 mentioned before finishes to protect the surface. We have used Vernilux pol with glass micro spheres to obtain a non slip effect on some of the requested samples ( with ratio of  6%). You can apply our Apsewax wax to polish the samples and clean them from any dust; It is a one-component material.

In the last sample shown in this video, we have used  fine gravel 0.5-0.7 in this case of yellowish, black colour in amount of 20 kg per 1kg of resin.  For this case we have used a one-component polyurethane based Polyglass Mono; which is used for continuous coatings on plinths and cove bases.

In the end of the video you can see the certificate of participation including the practice on all  of the previously seen samples; about 3 hours of theory with the possibility to keep samples made during the course.
